First look or nah?
Traditionally, you walk down the aisle to your future spouse and that is the first time you see each other. Traditionally, you do a bouquet toss, traditionally you do a garter removal, traditionally you wear a veil over your face… are you catching our drift? Now a days, these old school traditions aren’t as common. We always preach to our client’s that it is YOUR day, do it however the hell you want!
When it comes to a first look, there are so many benefits:
- Easing your nerves.
Chances are, this is the biggest day of your life thus far. You likely are going to be nervous, overwhelmed and full of emotion. The person you are marrying is your best friend, your partner in crime, your rock- there is no one better to calm your nerves than them! Seeing them beforehand, will give you time to breathe together, to relax together and take the stress away. - Extra time together.
This entire event, the whole day- is for you two. So much of your time will be spent with your guests, together or separately. This allows you an extra 15 minutes of intimate, quality time together. - Enjoy your cocktail hour.
If you have a first look, you can take nearly all of your portraits, both individually, with family and wedding party prior to your ceremony. This allows for you to go enjoy those yummy apps and drinks you spent so much time and money choosing instead of in front of the camera. You also get more time with your guests! - More time for dancing.
If you make it to your cocktail hour and mingle well with your guests- you can skip having to greet every single person at your reception and get to drinking, dancing and partying sooner!
