Why you Should Hire a Day of Coordinator
You have worked extremely hard and made sure every detail of your big day is going to be perfect. When your wedding arrives, you deserve to enjoy every second of it and not be worried about making sure everything unfolds the way you had planned.
A month before your wedding, while you are working on the final touches and focusing on being excited, your Day of Coordinator (DOC) will have begun their work. From creating your Day of Timeline to contacting and coordinating with all of your vendors, so that you don’t have to. Your Day of Timeline is critical – this is what makes sure all of your vendors are on the same page. Can you imagine if each vendor showed up with their own planned timeline, that could very easily be some serious chaos. We make sure that everyone is on the same page and good to go.
Then comes your Wedding Rehearsal – I cannot even possibly tell you how important this is. The rehearsal informs your bridal party on when they should enter the ceremony, when they should leave, what to do while they stand there, etc. It allows for any guest readers to know when they should go up for their reading, where the bride & groom should step when the reader comes up, where the reader should stand, how fast everyone should walk.
The next day is the big day. While you are getting ready on your wedding day, your DOC will do the following (and more):
- Receive your flowers from your florist
- Direct your vendors to their proper setup location, and ensure they know exactly where they need to be, and when
- Give final payments to your vendors
- Deal with all of the issues that arise – that you do not want to know are happening. For example (these have actually happened):
- The guest shuttle bus getting a flat tire
- Your hydrangeas wilting because they were cooking in the sun
- The string lights flickering on the wrong setting
- A vendor not showing up on time
- The guest shuttle bus getting a flat tire
- Direct all of your guests to their seats
- Make sure the caterer knows if things are running behind schedule or on time. You want your hors d’oeuvres to be ready as soon as your guests enter the cocktail hour
- Make sure the correct people sign the marriage paperwork, so you will actually be married! The DOC makes sure this paperwork ends up in the hands of someone responsible
- Secure your gifts- Your DOC will take all of your wedding gifts/cards and put them in a designated person’s locked car, or hotel room
Most importantly, your Day of Coordinator makes it so you can relax and enjoy every moment that you have worked so hard to plan. We will make it so you can be a guest at your wedding!
